During a career that spans more than 25 years, Wes Kruger has developed broad experience in federal and state taxation. He spent several years in the Midland, Texas office of KPMG, where many of his clients were high net worth individuals involved with the oil and gas industry. Wes is highly accomplished in the areas of estate/gift/generation-skipping transfer tax planning, business succession planning, and creditor protection strategies. He is also experienced in analyzing strategies for minimizing risk associated with concentrated equity positions.
Wes graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas A&M University and earned a Master of Science in Accounting, Taxation Specialization, from Texas Tech University. He received his Certified Public Accountant designation in 1985 while working in the Dallas office of what is now Ernst & Young. In 1987, he joined KPMG where he remained for nearly ten years, variously in the company’s executive offices in Montvale, New Jersey, and in the Amarillo and Midland operating offices. He became an owner in what is now Flieller, Kruger & Skelton in January 1999 and a partner in January 2000.
